This is a beautiful Gurdwara Sahib however, the main issue is from some of the Gurdwara committee members. One thing to note is that the head jatha members are incredibly kind and even teach the local kids community kirtan and what seva is all about. I've also seen the pardaan (president) of the Gurdwara doing really good things for the Gurdwara so I don't mean to put the blame on him. I've consistently seen him do seva with the purest heart and he treats everyone equally.

However, I've seen and heard from other members of the sangat and seen it myself where certain committee members are incredibly toxic. They believe that they "own" the Gurdwara when the Gurdwara should belong to the sangat and our Guru. I've heard from a friend of mine that a local student tried to take home langar after doing seva with permission from the head jatha and one of the members from the committee took the langar out of the student's bag and said you're not allowed. I think that's ridiculous because langar should be for everyone.

I believe that certain committee members have this superiority complex of them being "Ramgarhia" which causes segregation amongst other members of the community. The Gurdwara changed their name from Ramgarhia Gurdwara Association to now Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib but they still kept the Ramgarhia Association of Hamilton in their name. Why is this still happening in 2025 when our Guru's banned the caste system. Why is it so important that you have to display it for everyone to see. All Gurdwara's should be welcoming to all communities and by naming the Gurdwara to include Ramgarhia Association, further alienates anyone that would like to come.

I'm surprised that certain members of the committee have been a member for so long when all they do is create a toxic environment for the sangat. I've also heard that some committee members have even banned someone from the "Jatt" community from doing seva in the kitchen.

My warning is to all sangat members coming to the Gurdwara to please come and enjoy the kirtan and langar however, watch out for certain committee members because they will give you a hard time.

Nice and peaceful place, but...

Food
I m very greatfull for the food. But just one thing. Whats wrong with dipping everything in oil and frying. There are already snacks and desserts thats loaded with sugar, frying in deep oils, now they started frying all the sabzis, all the sabzi's are so bathed in oil and so many masala. Whats the difference between here and restruant if same way food is being prepared.
Please stop frying in oil everything and putting so much masala. Langer can be simple, saada khana can still be tasty.

People
But aunties and uncles are so toxic, they stare at you like a crackhead and constantly bicthing about others and things, even while preparing food.

They gossip about who comes when, whose coming today, tomorrow, why do you care, thats so wrong. Everyone can come whenever.

Some of them just straight out ask personal questions - "very disrespectful".

First, all will come and say, that they can pack you some food or you can take whatever food with you and when you try to take, they all come aggressively and say you cant take food with you.

Overall: guru ghar is peacefull only on the upper level at gurugranth sahib room, but langer hall is clearly toxic, not a peacefull, or positive environment.

Please stop looking at people when they r eating

This place is so underrated and need support from locals.

I am in hamilton from last 6-7 year and have never been to this gurudwara. So peaceful, people were welcoming.

I think people usually don’t visit this gurudwara because of the name as they tend to think it belongs to only one community. They should consider name changing and run few ads to let people know about it.

Baba Buddha g gurudwara is so overrated. Please support this gurudwara as well.

Gurdwara maybe peaceful however going there priest have Prasad then questioned where I am going? None of your business. This is reason why moderates do not come. He went back to prayers and had nothing else to do. Do not stare and do not question if you reading from holy book then your attention is there not people coming in and how they walk or how they look
